There are three main rivers in the area.  These are the Owencarrow River, Lackagh River and the Ray River.  The three rivers hold stocks of Salmon and Sea Trout.

The Owencarrow has sea trout after the first July floods.

The Ray is a spate river and fishes best in July and early August.

The Lackagh has a run of big spring Salmon in February and March with grilse in July and August.

All of these rivers fish best in high waters and local permits are required to fish these rivers. Permits for the Ray may be purchased at McGee's Garage, Falcarragh.  Permits for the Lackagh may be purchased from Lafferty's Supermarket, Creeslough.
